Buying Phosphate Dishwasher Detergent

The other day, I noticed white spots on my dishes as I emptied my dishwasher. I ran another load, and the same thing happened. I thought that maybe my dishwasher had given out, and that I would have to get a new one. When my husband got home from work, I mentioned the problem to him. He wanted to do some research on the problem and read a few different articles. He discovered that some dishwasher detergent companies were taking phosphate out of their detergents. The articles claimed that this is a problem because phosphate dishwasher detergent work better than detergent without phosphate.

He read on to discover that phosphate is a necessary cleaning agent when it comes to dishes. It is powerful and is able to strip dirt and grime off of dishes. When he was done reading, he asked me if I had recently switched to a new detergent. I had switched to a new detergent, so I looked at the box. Sure enough, it was not a phosphate dishwasher detergent. I went out and bought a new detergent with phosphate. I haven’t had a problem with my dishes since then. I am glad that we were able to fix the problem instead of having to buy a new dishwasher.

Pebble Mine Shouldn’t Be Opened

I am not what you would consider an activist or an environmentalist, but I will stand up for a cause that I feel is worthy. One such cause I came across recently is to stop the pebble mine that a Canadian mining company is trying to open in the headwaters of Bristol Bay, Alaska. This bay is salmon territory, and these salmon will be risked if the mine opens. The opening of pebble mine is considered by many, to be destructive and toxic to the states Salmon, which is a keystone species of the coastal ecosystem.

Without these salmon making their run through the streams and rivers, key nutrients that keep the rivers healthy will be lost. Salmon provide food for not only bears, which they are most known for, but also to more than 40 other species or birds and mammals. Rural communities around Alaska rely heavily on the salmon for survival. If Pebble mine was to open it would significantly alter their way of life both economically and environmentally. It is also a significant part of the Alaskan culture. This cause is important to many people and would be worth everyone’s attention. Don’t let one company ruin thousands of years of natural beauty.

A Green Event is Easy to Do

If you want to hold a green event it is easy to do. When you have a green event one thing you should remember to do is make sure that you are using energy in the most efficient way possible. You also need to use recycled materials or items that can be easily recycled – better yet, you should use both kinds. I was at one green event where all the plastic, paper and wooden items were made from recycled materials. It was pretty amazing. Plus, solar panels were hooked up to heat the water that was used for coffee and tea. There was no use of plastic bags for goodies. Instead, nice paper bags made of recycled paper were handed to each patron. And, the bags had paper handles and just the right amount of color. A hang tag was attached explaining that environmentally friendly ink was used to decorate the bag and that the bag could be re-used as a gift bag or such.

Some of the lighting at the event came from lamps using extremely energy efficient bulbs and some of the lighting simply came from large windows where the curtains were pulled back and the blinds were open. All the food served was organic and there were little signs that suggested patrons take only what they planned on eating so that little would be wasted.The whole green event reminded everyone in attendance of all the options available when planning events that are environmentally friendly.

Benifits of a Green Business Conference

I am a one hundred percent supporter of all things green. My husband says I am a borderline hippie. I used cloth diapers on all three of our kids, I drive an electric car, and I use all green products for cleaning my house. You will most likely never find me protesting at an oil company, but I think that everyone should go green. I think that even if you change some of your normal habits to ones that are a little more green it will make a huge impact. I think of the world that I want my grandchildren and my great grandchildren to live in, and I want it to be as natural and unharmed as possible.

I know that there is a green business conference that is held in my area, and I think it is fantastic. I love that people at the green business conference really care about our planet and what the future can hold if more people go green. I know the green business conference is good for networking, and that they have some really great motivational speakers. I have a friend who runs a green business, and she says after the conferences she always feels rejuvenated in her business plan and in beliefs of the good that going green can do for this world.

There are so many wonderful ways to get a project done. Now days there are so many cool ways to handle the waste when you are working on a big project. If you are like my friend, he has a business that handles a lot of cleanup and so they need all kinds of waste solutions to get rid of garbage quickly and effectively. Whether you are doing a personal project that will require some sort of waste equipment or you are a large company that needs to be able to properly dispense your garbage there are a lot of great ways to get rid of garbage.
My brother and I were hired by my dad to clean up an old home that he had purchased as an investment. There was a ton of garbage, and it was a big project.
